13 Days of Women Who Make Presents ... Renee Schroeder, The Door is Open

DAY 7: RENEE SCHROEDER

Today I’d like to share one story with you that I wrote for Women Who Make, a book about women who are leaders in manufacturing.

Through their stories, you’ll get to go behind-the-scenes and learn how these women got into manufacturing and why they believe it is an excellent career path for young women.

Our story today, “The Door is Open,” is about Renee Schroeder, Vice President of Operations at Smith & Richardson, Inc., in Geneva, Illinois.

Like so many women I interviewed, Renee had never considered having a career in manufacturing. Just by happenstance, she landed her first job out of college at a manufacturing company and she’s been there ever since. She has three daughters who she has introduced to the industry because she knows first-hand what a great career manufacturing offers.

If you’d like to read the rest of Renee’s story and get her thoughts about why she thinks manufacturing is an excellent career choice for young women and read all of the women’s stories in the book, visit Amazon.com.
