DAY 2: CYNTHIA CAMPOS

Today I’d like to share one story with you that I wrote for Women Who Make, a book about women who are leaders in manufacturing.

Through their stories, you’ll get to go behind-the-scenes and learn how these women got into manufacturing and why they believe it is an excellent career path for young women.

Our story today, “For the Love of Metal,” is about Cynthia Campos, a Set-Up Apprentice at Smith & Richardson in Geneva, Illinois.

Cynthia is passionate about metal and its scientific properties. Her message to young women is for them to follow their interests and passions. Don’t be discouraged from seeking a career in manufacturing by others who have misconceptions about, or don’t realize the career opportunities available in, the manufacturing industry. She says give manufacturing a try …
or at least look at the industry for a career!
